A two-person couples scramble on the Mississippi Gulf Coast — two rounds at Grand Bear and Shell Landing, two nights at the Holiday Inn Gulfport, a welcome party and an awards luncheon. Entry is $835 per couple.

Please join us February 28 through March 2, 2027 for the 2027 Coastal Mississippi Spring Couples Classic, held at two of the premier golf courses on the Mississippi Gulf Coast: Grand Bear Golf Club in Saucier and Shell Landing Golf Club in Gautier. It is a two-person couples scramble built around great golf, a Gulf Coast welcome party, and an awards luncheon — the perfect spring getaway for couples who love the game.

The courses

Grand Bear is a Jack Nicklaus signature design known for its challenging layout through the DeSoto National Forest, with towering pines, cypress wetlands, holes along the Big Biloxi River, and a secluded natural setting with no parallel holes or nearby houses. Shell Landing is a Davis Love III design featuring beautiful topography and views of the backwater near the Biloxi Sound, with holes that play over and next to the breathtaking marsh waters. Both are consistently ranked among the Top 10 Best Public Golf Courses in Mississippi.

Format of play

Two-person scramble, with teams of one man and one woman. Ladies play the forward tees and men play the Senior tees, and each player receives one mulligan each day of play at no charge.

What your entry includes

  • Two nights at the Holiday Inn Gulfport (February 28 and March 1, 2027), with a grab-and-go breakfast each morning
  • The Coastal Mississippi Pairings Welcome party and tee gift, compliments of Coastal Mississippi Tourism, on Sunday evening
  • Sunday welcome party at 6:00 PM at the Palms Lounge: meet and greet, light appetizers, draft beer and wine, and Monday pairings (cash bar available)
  • Two rounds of tournament golf at Grand Bear and Shell Landing, including lunch, drink tickets, a shared cart, and range balls
  • Awards luncheon after golf on Tuesday at Shell Landing, with merchandise gift certificates and cash prizes in each flight

Entry fee

Entry is $835 per couple, with a $200 deposit to reserve your spot. This is a planned 40-team, 80-golfer event, so spots are limited.

The host hotel

The Holiday Inn Gulfport sits near the Outlet Mall, restaurants, and the Gulfport-Biloxi (GPT) airport at the intersection of I-10 and Highway 49 — a short drive to the beaches, downtown entertainment, and the casinos, right in the center of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Additional nights are available in advance at a reduced rate.

Registration is handled through our secure portal: each golfer enters their own information and pays a $200 deposit to reserve their spot, with Golfer #1 and Golfer #2 details captured for every team.
