TPC San Antonio – Oaks Course

TPC San Antonio – Oaks Course

The Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio, host the annual PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open.  The TPC San Antonio Oaks Course along with it’s Companion Course TPC San Antonio Canyou Course are located on the property of the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort.  When your golf group plays the Oaks Golf Course they will have an awesome golfing experience playing where the pros play!  The Oaks course, designed by Greg Norman with consultation by Sergio Garcia, departs from the modern tournament style course (expansive grass areas and spectator mounding) to a more natural look and feel making it very tournament friendly, while keeping the fan experience intact.

Key course features:

  • Traditional design featuring narrower tree-lined fairways with wider fairways offering strategic options to the green
  • Beginning in the month of November each year, the Agronomy Team overseeds The Oaks course, both Fairways and Rough, using Champion Fine, in preparation for the Valero Texas Open.
  • Course designed with narrow corridors carved through oak trees
  • 100 feet of fall from the high point of the course to the lowest
  • Bunkering will reflect a natural, rugged “minimalist” with edges emulating the canopy of the native oak trees
  • Prevalent throughout the course are native grasses and plants
  • Par-72, 7,435-yard course, forced carries on only two holes
  • Uphill holes play downwind, and Downhill holes play into the prevailing wind
  • Bermuda grasses provide optimum playing conditions, diversity in color and texture and environmental sensitivity.
