Palmetto Hall Golf - Robert Cupp Course

Golf has been a fixture on Hilton Head Island since 1962. The area boasts over 26 championship courses that are both public and private. Hilton Head has courses designed by renowned architects such as Robert Trent Jones Sr., Pete Dye, and Jack Nicklaus. Players of all levels can enjoy diverse courses, from oceanfront to traditional parkland layouts, complemented by Southern hospitality and favorable year-round weather.
The Robert Cupp course is a stunningly original design that tests the better player, but accommodates higher handicappers as well. Cupp, Golf World's former Architect of the Year, opened his signature course at Palmetto Hall in 1993, Robert Cupp Course at Palmetto Hall on Hilton Head Island had the highest slope rating from the back tees (152) of any course in the state. Although that honor has since bestowed upon Pete Dye and the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort – which comes in at the USGA max of 155. Despite this difficult rating from the tips, the course continues to draw high praise for its flexibility, sound shot values and impeccable year-round conditioning
